At Angelina Alvarez, we are proud to support the legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her advocacy for the legal rights of women. Ruth boldly expressed both her opinions and her style throughout her 27 years on the Supreme Court.
Whilst serving as the second female judge ever appointed to the Supreme Court Justice of the United States, Ruth made important legal improvements for women and advocated against gender discrimination. She wrote many significant majority opinions and contributions to abortion rights for women during her tenure.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was also known for her wearing of statement earrings and collars during her career. She once explained that this was to express her style as a female judge, rather than adhere to the neck ties worn by male judges. Many of Ruth’s jewellery pieces became associated with specific decisions, such as gold collars for majority opinions and black collars for dissenting ones.
We hope the legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s advocacy and style will be continued long after her passing. She is an inspiration for us to stand out from the crowd and stand up for what we believe in as women.
